[ He would've sworn this planet was perfectly safe to touch down on and roam around. Coran being Coran, he actually probably did swear it a few times. Perfectly peaceful, uninhabited, bit on the dry side but not enough to kill someone... immediately.

Give it a few days and that might change. Oh, but that's the story for any place, isn't it? There's still fresh water, edible plants, and a few interesting rocks!

What he seems to keep forgetting, even while everything around them continually confirms that it's been ten thousand years since he last heard anything of anything, is that things tend to change quite a bit as literal millennia pass. Things... do not go as planned for this expedition.

The water's plentiful, the flora and fauna are different but still interesting. And then there's the rustling in the tall grasses. Stealthy little chitters and honks. The enormous skeleton lying near their pod, still wet but picked clean. ]

Oh, look at that! Amazing! The cycle of nature at work. I hadn't even noticed that when we landed!

[ Mostly because it wasn't there. Coran feels like now is the ideal time to play dumb, though. If they're hapless travelers, maybe they can just... load up and drift on out again. It's worth a chance. ]
